Appropriately, it houses temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, which - astonishingly - are free to view. The sweeping horizontal lines and clean exterior recall at various points a steamliner, Zeppelin, and industrial warehouse: all conscious associations for the architects. As you stand on the veranda and gaze out over the Channel, it's hard not to feel like a character from a 1930s murder mystery.November 10, 2016
